Happy Ch'usok

So it's been awhile since I posted something up. *cough* A month.

I had someone on Soompi ask me if I actually made it to Korea or not. lol.

Any who....
So I've been in Korea for almost 3 weeks now. And I can say for sure that it's nothing like America. First off just going to the airport was not as nerve wrecking as I thought. I kept hearing horror stories about how long the wait is getting through everything. People told me it was going to be intense with the whole searching through the bags and such but it was very easy going through immigration and customs. With immigration you just have to hand them a piece of paper that your airlines gives you with some information and customs is just checking some boxes saying that you don't have any deadly weapons. So in all it was easy and fast.

Tomorrow is Ch'usok and I'm stuck sitting at school. I was supposed to do a home stay with a Korean family but apparently there weren't enough families who signed up. But at least I'm not alone. There's a good 10 of us who weren't invited by anyone to go home with them. But that's okay besides the eating ramen all weekend. ^^

At this point I still can't believe that I'm in Korea. But it's been a blast. I miss my family but the experience has been great. I even learned how to play dodge ball Korean style. I guess here at my school there's an "Olympics" against majors. I love how every major has about 500 students and in mine which is called "Asian Studies" [the school made it up so we can participate] has only 40 students. We got killed in the girls’ arm wrestling and guys’ soccer so our best bet is dodge ball. Great news though. We won our first game because the Korean girls forfeit. Lol. So we move on to the next level.

This post is a lot longer than I meant to write so below will be pictures and a few differences between Korea and America.

1. Korean Taxis don't give a crap about red lights.
[We took a taxi from Ohyang back to school. It's about a 20 min bus ride but in the taxi it took us a good 5 mins. Best part is if you have 4 people with you it's only like 2/3 bucks each.]

2. The drinking age in Korea is 19 USA. It's pretty awesome. And there's this Korean liquor called "soju." That stuff is strong and cheap.
[The lemon soju is the best.]

3. You can get a really good meal for under 5 bucks.
[I had Samgyeopsal for 3.50. There's a picture all the way down.]

The view from my living room.

3 orders of Samgyeopsal and lots of side dishes.

More pictures of Samgyeopsal because it's yummy!!

The girls on our way to Seoul. Along with Ai.

Stay tuned for more updates.
